Mason Lake Fireworks is spearheaded by Chad Hauer & his Wife Stefanie out of their love for the tradition. They rely greatly on Volunteers to assist them in bringing back the Fireworks year after year. To learn more about various Volunteer opportunities please email Volunteer@MasonLakeFireworks.com. To ensure a successful Fireworks show we need the support of numerous individuals, various groups and Local Businesses.
THE HAUER FAMILY:
Chad’s Grandpa, the late Rocco ‘Mac’ Manza, bought one of the first Lindal Cedar Homes from the Puyallup Fair in the 1950’s and built it on Mason Lake in a weekend and nick named it the “Manza Cabana”. Chad was born in Steilacoom and raised in Tacoma and he feels extremely fortunate to have been able to enjoy growing up over the years on Mason Lake. A huge part of Chad’s childhood memories at Mason Lake stem from the 3rd of July Fireworks Tradition.
As a youth, Chad attended St. Charles, Bellarmine, Stadium, Curtis, TCC (Associates in Arts & Sciences) and Bates (Associates in Fire Services). Chad is a full-time REALTOR® serving Pierce & Mason County. Chad enjoys reading business and finance books, wakeboarding, wake surfing & kayaking.
Stefanie Hauer grew up on Vaughn Bay riding horses and her motorcycle. Stef attended Peninsula High School, Washington State University and later graduated from University of Washington. She is now a full-time Mother Extraordinaire. Stef designed Mason Lake Gear to show support & help bring in more donations to fund the fireworks show. Every penny of the profit from the Mason Lake Gear goes toward funding the show! The majority of the necessary fireworks funds however are generated through donations so please make sure to donate to the show in addition to sporting your Mason Lake apparel!
Chad & Stefanie met at Mason Lake during College and years later got married on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in November of 2006! They currently live in the Gig Harbor area with their daughter, Capri Abella (3) and son, Ryder Mason (3 months). They enjoy spending time with their family and friends, Sunday mornings at Harbor Christian Center, and of course, spending as much time as possible at the family’s cabin on Mason Lake.
